Introduction

The Christian Education organization of our Parish for Children is Immanuel Mar Thoma Sunday School registered under the Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam, Thiruvalla. It is the responsibility of the Church to raise and train children in the faith and practices of the Church. Therefore, Christian Education is the intentional activity of the Church. Parents and Sunday School teachers have a greater role in the edification of children according to the pattern of Christian love. Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam had successfully used an earlier curriculum, "Being God's People in God's World" for 21 years. The overarching theme of the new curriculum is "Transformation through the Word of God".

Classes:

Sunday School classes are divided into 8 Vakups and each Vakup has a duration of two years as per their age. Currently we have on roll 124 students and 26 teachers.

Vacation bible school, Students retreat/camp and annual day functions are held annually. Outgoing Sunday school students are given their course certificates, and a convocation is held during church services.

A regular Sunday school session includes the following activities:

Achievements:

Our Sunday School students and teachers have regularly showcased their talents and abilities on various programs and competitions both in the Kuwait Ecumenical as well as Kuwait Center Mar Thoma Fellowships.

Our Students and Teacher’s Quiz Teams have consistently won the first, second and third places in the Kuwait Center Logos Quiz Competition over the past 5 years. In the most recent Logos Quiz Competition-2023 held in NECK church on 19th January 2024, our Students Team came 2nd and Teacher’s Team got the 3rd place in their respective categories.

Our Sunday School choir also won the first prize at the CSI Harvest Festival Choral singing competition in October 2018 and has represented our church in the ICC Christmas carols and the KECF Carols over the past years. Logos quiz 2024 was conducted on 10 January 2025 at St Johns Mar Thoma Parish Hall Abbassiya and our Student team got the Second Prize.
